About Todd Schubkegel, M.D.

Dr. Todd Schubkegel brings a unique perspective to orthopedic care, shaped by his upbringing in a competitive athletic environment. Having experienced the challenges of injury firsthand, he approaches each patient with empathy and a deep understanding of what it’s like to be on the other side of the exam table. His treatment philosophy centers on clear communication and setting realistic expectations—ensuring patients feel heard, informed, and empowered.

At OSI, Dr. Schubkegel emphasizes a multi-faceted, team-based approach to care. By actively involving patients, physical therapists, and clinical staff in the treatment process, he fosters a collaborative environment that enhances outcomes, efficiency, and overall satisfaction.

Dr. Schubkegel’s areas of expertise include, but are not limited to, arthroscopic shoulder surgery with advanced techniques of rotator cuff repair including tendon transfer and/or augmentation; standard and reverse shoulder replacements—including revision procedures; shoulder and elbow instability reconstruction; comprehensive orthopedic and sports medicine care; treatment of upper extremity nerve conditions; total elbow replacement and arthroscopic elbow surgery; fracture care; nonoperative arthritis management and joint preservation; and occupational injury management.

He’s a proud father and can often be found coaching or cheering on his two sons at their athletic events alongside his wife. A curious home chef, hands-on DIY enthusiast, and passionate music aficionado, Dr. Schubkegel also plays bass guitar and finds joy in creative pursuits that balance his clinical precision with personal expression.
