The successful candidate will schedule surgeries and will also provide general patient care.  This position will be based out of our Appleton campus however will require travel to our satellite clinics in DePere and Oshkosh.  This is a 1.0 FTE position.

Patient Service Representative

The Orthopedic & Sports Institute (OSI) is seeking a full time (40 hours per week) Patient Service Representative for  OCA, SC. The successful candidate will create a positive first impression and establish strong patient relationships in a fast-paced environment. Typical  hours are 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.  This position is at the DePere clinic.  Training and back up will be located at the Appleton clinic.

Radiology Technologist

The Orthopedic & Sports Institute (OSI) is seeking a Radiology Technologist for OCA, SC. for our DePere location.  The successful candidate will x-ray patients and assist providers with patients in clinic. This is a 1.0 FTE position or can be a job share.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for radiological procedures and take x-rays following establish procedures that include clinic, surgery cases, post op x-rays and injections under fluoroscopy or aspirations
  • Room patients and take a history
  • Assist with medical care of patients
  • Communications with patient both in person and via telephone.
  • Perform other selected medical assistant and administrative duties as requested
  • Perform a variety of technical tasks involved in operating x-ray equipment, CR/DR/Portable DR

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Orthopedic & Sports Institute has an opening for a CNA in the Ambulatory Surgery Center. The CNA is responsible for the care and safety of patients who come under his/her care. The CNA will assist in the care of Surgery Center patients as requested under the direct supervision of the professional staff. Performs ancillary duties in the Surgery Center that include but not limited to patient observation and discharge, and patient transportation. Assists in front office responsibilities including answering phones and medical filing. This is a 1.0 FTE position with the hours of 10:00 am – 6:30 pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides optimum assurance of a safe surgical environment
  • Checks preoperative and PACU areas, materials and equipment for appropriate patient care
  • Coordinates inventory with Clinical Coordinator to maintain high standards and quality in the materials used and stocking of inventory
  • Performs patient care activities in preoperative and PACU areas to include vital sign monitoring, provision of nourishment, discontinuing peripheral intravenous catheters, assisting patients with clothing, bathroom needs and general ambulation and removing IVs
  • Cleaning bays/carts after patient discharge

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent and completion of CNA certificate program required

Prep/PACU Registered Nurse

The Orthopedic & Sports Institute is currently seeking  candidates for the position of Prep/PACU Registered Nurse for the Ambulatory Surgery Center.  There is a .7 FTE and .8 FTE positions available.  Shifts range from 5:30 am – 10:00 pm. No weekends or Holidays.

The Prep/PACU nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse who, under the immediate supervision of the Director of Operations, is responsible for the safety of the patient while in the preoperative and recovery and assists with the supervision of nonprofessional personnel in the area. By assessment of the individual patient and procedure, he/she anticipates the needs of the surgical team and provides such services while maintaining an aseptic and safe environment. This individual must be currently licensed to practice professional nursing in the State of Wisconsin and must be familiar with the basic nursing performance standards as outlined in the Wisconsin Nurse Practice Act. Certification in CPR, ACLS, and PALS required; completion of a basic arrhythmia interpretation course is desired.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • A minimum of one year experience in PACU or ICU
  • Knowledge and experience in the preoperative and postoperative care of the surgical patient
  • Evidence of continuing education in the field of surgical suite nursing

Nurse Practitioner /Physician Assistant

The Orthopedic & Sports Institute is seeking a full time Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant for Valley Orthopedic Clinic.  The successful candidate will be focused on providing quality patient care in a team environment.

Job duties include:

  • Evaluation and assessment of patients in clinic setting
  • Facilitates the patient’s transition within and between health care settings
  • Pre-operative evaluation and health management
  • Prescription management
  • Facilitates staff, patient and family decision making by providing educational tools
  • Assist with orthopedic surgical procedures

  • Patient rounds, administer discharge orders, dictates discharge summaries on patients

The Orthopedic & Sports Institute is seeking a  1.0 FTE CNA/Surgical Associate for our Ambulatory Surgery Center.   The successful candidate will assist our team with OR turnover to ensure room readiness for the next patient. This is a 1.0 FTE with rotating shifts of 6:30 am – 3:00 pm and 10:00 am – 6:30 pm.  No weekends and No call.

  • Cleaning (rooms, floor, and equipment)

Qualification & Skills:

The Orthopedic & Sports Institute (OSI) is seeking a full time (40 hours per week) certified professional Medical Coder (CCS or CPC) for OCA. SC.  The successful candidate will be dedicated to provide detailed medical coding for a busy orthopedic practice.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assign correct CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10 codes to professional office visits daily, MRI visits, and surgical visits
  • Follow current CPT, and individual insurance company guidelines, as well as orthopedic coding guidelines

  • Research Refund Request

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 2 years experience billing in medical office

Surgical Technologist

The Surgical Technologist, under the guidance of the staff registered nurse, is responsible for the care and safety of patients who come under his/her care. The surgical tech is responsible for ensuring effective communications between him/herself, the circulating nurse, the patient, other staff, and physicians. This individual is responsible for the safety of the patient while in the surgical suite and assists with the supervision of team in the area. Recovery Inn Registered Nurse

The Recovery Inn, located on the campus of the Orthopedic & Sports Institute, is a unique facility offering highly specialized rehabilitation services to those recovering from joint replacement or repair surgery.

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the care and safety of patients. The RN is also responsible for ensuring effective communication among him/herself, the certified nursing assistant, the patient and their families, other staff, and physicians. The RN promotes restoration of health and the achievement of patient health goals through assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and delegation in the delivery of patient care. The RN must be perceptive, with good judgment and decision-making/problem-solving skills, and must be able to understand and implement the plan of care. The RN must show courtesy and respect to other employees, patients, family members, and visitors while providing excellent customer service.

We are currently seeking a PRN Registered Nurse to assist with vacation hours and additional staffing needs, must be available to work a variety of shifts.

The Recovery Inn, located on the campus of the Orthopedic & Sports Institute, is a unique facility offering highly specialized rehabilitation services to those recovering from joint replacement or repair surgery.

The Certified Nursing Assistant is a vital member of the patient care team. In accordance with the patient/family plan of care, the Certified Nursing Assistant, under the direction of the Registered Nurse, collects patient information and provides direct patient care that contributes significantly to achievement of patient and family outcomes. As a member of the direct care team, the CNA is responsible and accountable for complete and accurate data collection and recording, completion of routine and delegated direct care activities, and communicating and collaborating with the RN to prioritize workload so that patient care outcomes are achieved. The CNA must show courtesy and respect to other employees, patients, family members, and visitors while providing excellent customer service. We currently have a variety of shifts available, part-time and full-time.
