The successful candidate will create a positive first impression and establish strong patient relationships in a fast-paced environment. Typical hours are 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Worker’s Compensation Specialist
The Orthopedic & Sports Institute (OSI) is seeking a full time (28-32 hours per week) Workers’ Compensation Specialist for OCA, S.C. The successful candidate will be a liaison to the patient, employer, and the Worker’s Compensation carrier.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Build WC case for patient in a timely manner
- Monitor status of claim including but not limited to claim reconsiderations, appeals, and denials
- Closely work with Coder for denied claims
- Send second requests to follow up with outstanding appeals
- Appeal with the state of WI if necessary
- Ensure any surgeries are entered online
- Upload proper documentation to the designated system for WC Adjusters to view
- Phone coverage as needed for the Business Office
- Communicate and work with physicians often to obtain proper documentation
Qualification and Skills
- 3-5 years Worker’s Compensation experience – working with adjusters and appealing denials
- Knowledge of the State of WI Worker’s Compensation laws

Sterile Processing Technician
The Orthopedic & Sports Institute is seeking a 1.0 FTE Sterile Processing Technician. The hours for this position will be 12:00 pm – 8:30 pm Monday – Friday. There is a regular rotation of scheduled shifts. Some flexibility is needed to accommodate the needs of the surgery schedule.
Responsibilities:
- SPD tech assures cleanliness, disinfection, and distribution of sterile supplies and instruments for use in the care and treatment of patients.
- Helps maintain the sterilizing equipment and supplies for department.
- Complies with and implements required safety and OSHA precautions for SPD.
- Ensures clean, safe environment through continued alertness to safety and explosive hazards, and aseptic to techniques.

Surgical Technologist
The Surgical Technologist, under the guidance of the staff registered nurse, is responsible for the care and safety of patients who come under his/her care. The surgical tech is responsible for ensuring effective communications between him/herself, the circulating nurse, the patient, other staff, and physicians. By anticipating the needs of the surgeon, the surgical tech provides assistance while maintaining an aseptic and safe surgical environment. We have a couple openings depending upon the desired FTE. The FTE can range from a .4FTE to a 1.0 FTE. The shifts vary with the hours ranging from 6:30 am – 6:30 pm. No weekends and no call.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology
- Current ORT Certification

Operating Room Circulating RN – PRN
This individual is responsible for the safety of the patient while in the surgical suite and assists with the supervision of team in the area. Through assessment of the individual patient and procedure, he/she anticipates the needs of the surgical team and provides such services while maintaining an aseptic and safe environment. The RN promotes restoration of health and the achievement of patient health goals through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the delivery of patient care as defined by ambulatory care nursing philosophy and the mission of the practice. This is a PRN position. No weekends.
- Minimum 1 year RN experience required and 2 years of Ortho/Neuro preferred
- Must be currently licensed to practice professional nursing in the State of Wisconsin and familiar with the basic nursing performance standards as outlined in the Wisconsin Nurse Practice Act

The Recovery Inn, located on the campus of the Orthopedic & Sports Institute, is a unique facility offering highly specialized rehabilitation services to those recovering from joint replacement or repair surgery.
The Registered Nurse is responsible for the care and safety of patients. The RN is also responsible for ensuring effective communication among him/herself, the certified nursing assistant, the patient and their families, other staff, and physicians. The RN promotes restoration of health and the achievement of patient health goals through assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and delegation in the delivery of patient care. The RN must be perceptive, with good judgment and decision-making/problem-solving skills, and must be able to understand and implement the plan of care. The RN must show courtesy and respect to other employees, patients, family members, and visitors while providing excellent customer service.
We are currently seeking a PRN Registered Nurse to assist with vacation hours and additional staffing needs, must be available to work a variety of shifts.

The Recovery Inn, located on the campus of the Orthopedic & Sports Institute, is a unique facility offering highly specialized rehabilitation services to those recovering from joint replacement or repair surgery.
The Certified Nursing Assistant is a vital member of the patient care team. In accordance with the patient/family plan of care, the Certified Nursing Assistant, under the direction of the Registered Nurse, collects patient information and provides direct patient care that contributes significantly to achievement of patient and family outcomes. As a member of the direct care team, the CNA is responsible and accountable for complete and accurate data collection and recording, completion of routine and delegated direct care activities, and communicating and collaborating with the RN to prioritize workload so that patient care outcomes are achieved. The CNA must show courtesy and respect to other employees, patients, family members, and visitors while providing excellent customer service. We currently have a variety of shifts available, part-time and full-time.
