Sterile Processing Technician

The Orthopedic & Sports Institute is seeking a 1.0 FTE Sterile Processing Technician. The hours for this position will be 12:00 pm – 8:30 pm Monday – Friday.  Some flexibility is needed to accommodate the needs of the surgery schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • SPD tech assures cleanliness, disinfection, and distribution of sterile supplies and instruments for use in the care and treatment of patients.
  • Helps maintain the sterilizing equipment and supplies for department.
  • Complies with and implements required safety and OSHA precautions for SPD.
  • Ensures clean, safe environment through continued alertness to safety and explosive hazards, and aseptic to techniques.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of sterile processing preferred
  • Demonstrate ability to provide quality work
  • Complete documentation on time and accurately
  • Communicate and work efficiently with people
  • CPR certification preferred

MRI Technologist

The Orthopedic & Sports Institute is seeking a MRI Technologist.  This position is a .6 FTE with the schedule of Monday, Thursday, and Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.

This position produces high quality images for interpretation by physicians that meet the standards established by the Green Bay Radiologists. Practices proper safety guidelines for themselves, support personnel and patients. Supports teamwork through effective communication. Ensures high level of service to patients through proper communication, technique, and safety guidelines. Maintains flexibility to shift times and lengths. Performs other functional duties as assigned to assure efficient and optimal patient care.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Operate equipment for imaging and anything related on various areas of the body to provide high quality images and information for patient diagnosis.
  • Address patient concerns during the procedures and explain the MRI process to the patient in a way that is informative but also reassuring.
  • Use tact, courtesy and poise when dealing with patients, keeping them calm and ensuring that they get the best care possible.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and scanner to ensure that equipment is operating properly to avoid downtime or delays that affect patient satisfaction.
  • Ensure patient safety with pre-screening for any contra-indications before the procedure.
  • Handle high-stress environments in a calm manner when dealing with patients, technicians, and physicians.
  • Demonstrates skill and knowledge to identify disease abnormalities and physiological processes while performing the MR scans with initiative to obtain additional scans, views, or extremely technical factors to provide maximum information for the radiologist to make an accurate diagnosis.
  • Operate portable X-Ray in helping with administration of contrast for MRI Arthrograms and Therapeutic Injections.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate an accredited radiography or nuclear medicine program.
  • ARRT certified in MRI within 18 months of hire
  • BLS certification
  • MRI Technologist experience preferred.
  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate’s degree, or Technical degree required.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) / Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – WEEKENDS

The Orthopedic & Sports Institute (OSI) is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for OSI. a busy orthopedic practice. The successful candidate will provide general patient care. This position will be based out of our Appleton campus for our Weekend Walk-in Clinic. This opportunity will rotate weekends.  The hours are 10:00 am – 2:00 pm Saturday and Sunday.

Surgical Technologist

The Surgical Technologist, under the guidance of the staff registered nurse, is responsible for the care and safety of patients who come under his/her care. The surgical tech is responsible for ensuring effective communications between him/herself, the circulating nurse, the patient, other staff, and physicians. By anticipating the needs of the surgeon, the surgical tech provides assistance while maintaining an aseptic and safe surgical environment. This is .7 FTE position with variable hours between 6:00 am – 6:00 pm.  No weekends and No call.

  • Current ORT Certification preferred

Patient Service Representative

The Orthopedic & Sports Institute (OSI) is seeking a full time (40 hours per week) Patient Service Representative.  The successful candidate will create a positive first impression and establish strong patient relationships in a fast-paced environment. Typical hours are 8:00 am 5:00 pm. This position is located at the Appleton location.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Greet patients (via phone and in person)
  • Verify patient benefit information
  • Schedule appointments
  • Answer incoming phone calls
  • Take payments over the phone
  • Outgoing Referrals Coordination

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of customer service experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strongly prefer medical experience
  • Medical Terminology strongly encouraged
  •  Epic experience a plus

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Orthopedic & Sports Institute has an opening for a CNA in the Ambulatory Surgery Center. The CNA is responsible for the care and safety of patients who come under his/her care. The CNA will assist in the care of Surgery Center patients as requested under the direct supervision of the professional staff. Performs ancillary duties in the Surgery Center that include but not limited to patient observation and discharge, and patient transportation in a Peri-operative environment. This is a 1.0 FTE position  Monday – Friday.  The hours for this position can range from 6:00 am – 6:00 pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides optimum assurance of a safe surgical environment
  • Checks preoperative and PACU areas, materials and equipment for appropriate patient care
  • Coordinates inventory with Clinical Coordinator to maintain high standards and quality in the materials used and stocking of inventory
  • Performs patient care activities in preoperative and PACU areas to include vital sign monitoring, provision of nourishment, discontinuing peripheral intravenous catheters, assisting patients with clothing, bathroom needs and general ambulation and removing IVs
  • Cleaning bays/carts after patient discharge

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent and completion of CNA certificate program required
  • Previous experience in surgery center or physician’s office preferred
  • CPR certification required

Concierge – Standby

Orthopedic & Sports Institute (OSI) is looking to add an additional team member to our Concierge team. The concierge enhances the patient, guest, vendor, and team member experience by providing up to date information about OSI and its building partners. The concierge team member must be polite, flexible, and accommodating to the needs of the campus.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Greeting all guests with a warm and welcoming smile; offer and assist with wheelchairs as needed.
  • Give a warm good-bye and assistance as needed upon departure.
  • Offer assistance to the patients in and out of the car, building, use of a wheel-chair etc.
  • Provide directions in the building to OSI patients, guests, and vendors.
  • Manage the lobby.
  • Interact with patients, guest, vendors, and team members.
  • Sort and deliver mail.
  • Monitor and manage the room schedule for the classroom.
  • Serve as the “Go-to” person for the team members, guests, and vendors.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Prep/PACU RN – Standby

The Orthopedic & Sports Institute is currently seeking candidates for the position of Prep/PACU Registered Nurse for the Ambulatory Surgery Center. This is a PRN position. Shifts range from 5:30 am 10:00 pm. No weekends or Holidays.

The Prep/PACU nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse who, under the immediate supervision of the Director of Operations, is responsible for the safety of the patient while in the preoperative and recovery and assists with the supervision of nonprofessional personnel in the area. By assessment of the individual patient and procedure, he/she anticipates the needs of the surgical team and provides such services while maintaining an aseptic and safe environment. This individual must be currently licensed to practice professional nursing in the State of Wisconsin and must be familiar with the basic nursing performance standards as outlined in the Wisconsin Nurse Practice Act. Certification in CPR, ACLS, and PALS required; completion of a basic arrhythmia interpretation course is desired.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • A minimum of one year experience in PACU or ICU
  • Knowledge and experience in the preoperative and postoperative care of the surgical patient
  • Evidence of continuing education in the field of surgical suite nursing

Recovery Inn Registered Nurse

The Recovery Inn, located on the campus of the Orthopedic & Sports Institute, is a unique facility offering highly specialized rehabilitation services to those recovering from joint replacement or repair surgery.

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the care and safety of patients. The RN is also responsible for ensuring effective communication among him/herself, the certified nursing assistant, the patient and their families, other staff, and physicians. The RN promotes restoration of health and the achievement of patient health goals through assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and delegation in the delivery of patient care. The RN must be perceptive, with good judgment and decision-making/problem-solving skills, and must be able to understand and implement the plan of care. The RN must show courtesy and respect to other employees, patients, family members, and visitors while providing excellent customer service.

We are currently seeking a PRN Registered Nurse to assist with vacation hours and additional staffing needs, must be available to work a variety of shifts.

The Recovery Inn, located on the campus of the Orthopedic & Sports Institute, is a unique facility offering highly specialized rehabilitation services to those recovering from joint replacement or repair surgery.

The Certified Nursing Assistant is a vital member of the patient care team. In accordance with the patient/family plan of care, the Certified Nursing Assistant, under the direction of the Registered Nurse, collects patient information and provides direct patient care that contributes significantly to achievement of patient and family outcomes. As a member of the direct care team, the CNA is responsible and accountable for complete and accurate data collection and recording, completion of routine and delegated direct care activities, and communicating and collaborating with the RN to prioritize workload so that patient care outcomes are achieved. The CNA must show courtesy and respect to other employees, patients, family members, and visitors while providing excellent customer service. We currently have a variety of shifts available, part-time and full-time.
