Radiology Technologist – Float

The Orthopedic & Sports Institute (OSI) is seeking a Radiology Technologist for OCA SC. The successful candidate will x-ray patients and assist providers with patients in clinic. We have a .8 FTE and 1.0 FTE Float positions at our Appleton, DePere, and Oshkosh locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for radiological procedures and take x-rays following establish procedures that include clinic, surgery cases, post op x-rays and injections under fluoroscopy or aspirations
  • Room patients and take a history
  • Assist with medical care of patients
  • Communications with patient both in person and via telephone.
  • Perform other selected medical assistant and administrative duties as requested
  • Perform a variety of technical tasks involved in operating x-ray equipment, CR/DR/Portable DR
  • Adjust equipment for proper exposure in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures, while using immobilization and protective devices as require
  • Use of a Hoyer lift

Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner

Orthopedic Clinic of Appleton is seeking a qualified full time Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner with occupational medicine and orthopedic experience to join us at our Oshkosh office.

Job duties include:

  • Evaluate and assess new patients in our walk-in clinic
  • Help organize and coordinate our industrial VIP Health Program
  • Monitor workers and analyze work environments
  • Care for workers that are ill or injured as a result of workplace accidents
  • Network and develop relationships with human resource and health departments at multiple businesses in the Neenah/Oshkosh/Fond du Lac markets
  • Visit and communicate with our VIP Business Clients on a regular basis
  • Coordinate care for industrial injured patients with case management, physical therapy, and human resource departments
  • Provide occupational medicine options, to include DOT physical exams, drug and alcohol screening, pre-employment functional assessment matching, etc
  • Triage patient related clinical questions and concerns (i.e. work restrictions, procedural questions, etc.)
  • Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to the patient’s specific need
  • Prescription management
  • Facilitate staff, patient, case management, and family decision making by providing educational tools

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited program.
  • Active clinical licensing as required by state and federal laws
  • Eligible for hospital privileges/credentialing.
  • Experience in a fast-paced medical practice
  • Previous experience with Occupational Medicine and Orthopedics not a prerequisite but preferred.
  • Certification as an Occupational Health Nurse(C-OHN) or Certificate of Added Qualification in Occupational Medicine ( PA-C ) or willingness to achieve one of these added qualifications
  • Knowledge of and experience with prescription management, including schedule II drugs.
  • Previous experience in a team centered clinic.
  • Excellent communication skills and professionalism.

Certified Nursing Assistant – CNA

Orthopedic & Sports Institute has an opening for a CNA. The CNA is responsible for the care and safety of patients who come under his/her care. The CNA will assist in the care of Surgery Center patients as requested under the direct supervision of the professional staff. Performs ancillary duties in the Surgery Center that include but not limited to patient observation and discharge, and patient transportation. Assists in front office responsibilities including answering phones and medical filing. This is a 1.0 FTE position with the hours of 10:00 am – 6:30 pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides optimum assurance of a safe surgical environment
  • Checks preoperative and PACU areas, materials and equipment for appropriate patient care
  • Coordinates inventory with Clinical Coordinator to maintain high standards and quality in the materials used and stocking of inventory
  • Performs patient care activities in preoperative and PACU areas to include vital sign monitoring, provision of nourishment, discontinuing peripheral intravenous catheters, assisting patients with clothing, bathroom needs and general ambulation and removing IVs
  • Cleaning bays/carts after patient discharge

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent and completion of CNA certificate program required
  • Previous experience in surgery center or physician’s office preferred
  • CPR certification required

Sterile Processing Technician

The Orthopedic & Sports Institute is seeking a 1.0 FTE Sterile Processing Technician. The hours for this position will be 12:00 pm – 8:30 pm Monday – Friday. There is a regular rotation of scheduled shifts. Some flexibility is needed to accommodate the needs of the surgery schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • SPD tech assures cleanliness, disinfection, and distribution of sterile supplies and instruments for use in the care and treatment of patients.
  • Helps maintain the sterilizing equipment and supplies for department.
  • Complies with and implements required safety and OSHA precautions for SPD.
  • Ensures clean, safe environment through continued alertness to safety and explosive hazards, and aseptic to techniques.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of sterile processing preferred
  • Demonstrate ability to provide quality work
  • Complete documentation on time and accurately
  • Communicate and work efficiently with people
  • CPR certification preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours and changing assignments

Surgical Technologist

The Surgical Technologist, under the guidance of the staff registered nurse, is responsible for the care and safety of patients who come under his/her care. The surgical tech is responsible for ensuring effective communications between him/herself, the circulating nurse, the patient, other staff, and physicians. By anticipating the needs of the surgeon, the surgical tech provides assistance while maintaining an aseptic and safe surgical environment. This is a 1.0 FTE position with the hours of 11:00 am – 7:30 pm.  No weekends and No call.

Operating Room Circulating RN –  PRN

This individual is responsible for the safety of the patient while in the surgical suite and assists with the supervision of team in the area. Through assessment of the individual patient and procedure, he/she anticipates the needs of the surgical team and provides such services while maintaining an aseptic and safe environment. The RN promotes restoration of health and the achievement of patient health goals through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the delivery of patient care as defined by ambulatory care nursing philosophy and the mission of the practice. This is a PRN position.  No weekends.

  • Minimum 1 year RN experience required and 2 years of Ortho/Neuro preferred
  • Must be currently licensed to practice professional nursing in the State of Wisconsin and familiar with the basic nursing performance standards as outlined in the Wisconsin Nurse Practice Act
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Certified in BLS with ACLS certification required
  • Candidate must be motivated and team oriented

The Recovery Inn, located on the campus of the Orthopedic & Sports Institute, is a unique facility offering highly specialized rehabilitation services to those recovering from joint replacement or repair surgery.

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the care and safety of patients. The RN is also responsible for ensuring effective communication among him/herself, the certified nursing assistant, the patient and their families, other staff, and physicians. The RN promotes restoration of health and the achievement of patient health goals through assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and delegation in the delivery of patient care. The RN must be perceptive, with good judgment and decision-making/problem-solving skills, and must be able to understand and implement the plan of care. The RN must show courtesy and respect to other employees, patients, family members, and visitors while providing excellent customer service.

We are currently seeking a PRN Registered Nurse to assist with vacation hours and additional staffing needs, must be available to work a variety of shifts.

The Recovery Inn, located on the campus of the Orthopedic & Sports Institute, is a unique facility offering highly specialized rehabilitation services to those recovering from joint replacement or repair surgery.

The Certified Nursing Assistant is a vital member of the patient care team. In accordance with the patient/family plan of care, the Certified Nursing Assistant, under the direction of the Registered Nurse, collects patient information and provides direct patient care that contributes significantly to achievement of patient and family outcomes. As a member of the direct care team, the CNA is responsible and accountable for complete and accurate data collection and recording, completion of routine and delegated direct care activities, and communicating and collaborating with the RN to prioritize workload so that patient care outcomes are achieved. The CNA must show courtesy and respect to other employees, patients, family members, and visitors while providing excellent customer service. We currently have a variety of shifts available, part-time and full-time.
