The Orthopedic & Sports Institute (OSI) & Miron Construction once again teamed up to sponsor the April Fools’ 5K fun run/walk, a fundraising event to benefit Appleton High School sports programs.

This year’s 5K, held on March 31, raised $15,000 for the Appleton Area School District (AASD). The annual event reached a milestone this year, surpassing $100,000 in donations since the run/walk began in 2011. With this year’s check, the grand total reached $105,000.

Proceeds are divided equally among Appleton East, Appleton North, and Appleton West to fund athletic programs, teams, and necessary equipment at the respective schools.

Representatives from OSI, Miron, and AASD gathered at OSI for the check presentation on May 11 prior to the Quarterly Meeting with AASD Activities Directors, high school athletic trainers, and medical staff from OSI and Advanced Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine, OSI’s physical training partner.

OSI is the exclusive athletic training services provider for the AASD.

“We are so proud and so thankful to all of our amazing committee members, volunteers, sponsors, and race participants,” said race director Courtney Vosters. “And we had perfect weather for this year’s event!”
