How do I use my CPM machine?

Your physician will determine the schedule you will follow. In most cases, these guidelines are used for knee CPMs:
Use 1 hour, 3 times per day minimum. Use more if tolerated.
Start at a setting of 0 degrees extension and 45 to 90 degrees flexion, or as much as tolerated. Increase the flexion (bending) range of motion setting by by 5 degrees per day, if possible.
Goal of 90 degrees knee flexion by 2 weeks after your surgery. Ultimate goal: 120 degrees.
