Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – Standby

We have an opening for a Standby CNA. The CNA is responsible for the care and safety of patients who come under his/her care. The CNA will assist in the care of Surgery Center patients as requested under the direct supervision of the professional staff. Performs ancillary duties in the Surgery Center that include but not limited to patient observation and discharge, and patient transportation. Assists in front office responsibilities including answering phones and medical filing.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides optimum assurance of a safe surgical environment 
  • Checks preoperative and PACU areas, materials and equipment for appropriate patient care
  • Coordinates inventory with Clinical Coordinator to maintain high standards and quality in the materials used.
  • Performs patient care activities in preoperative and PACU areas to include vital sign monitoring, provision of nourishment, discontinuing peripheral intervenous catheters, assisting patients with clothing, bathroom needs and general ambulation

Orthopedic Triage Nurse

We are currently seeking candidates for our busy orthopedic surgery practice for a part time Triage Nurse, 16 – 20 hours per week. This is a clinical position and will work under the direction of our orthopedic providers triaging patient care phone calls and coordinating patient care.  Must be capable of working with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities.

Responsibilities:

•Triage phone calls to assess patient condition and provide patient counseling and education  

•Work in conjunction with providers and lead nurse to coordinate patient care 

•Manage referring physician communications  

•Bridge communications between providers, patients, families and facilities  

•Assist physicians with examinations and treatments

•Prescribe medications under advisement of MD

•Take vital signs, prepare/remove sutures, casts, braces, dressings

•Maintain accurate and concise clinical documentation within the medical records

  • CMA or LPN Certification
  • Prior telephone triage experience preferably in an orthopedic environment with strong patient assessment skills
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work despite multi-faceted task directions and interruptions
  • Flexible and able to function independently
OSI Surgical Technologist

The Surgical Technologist, under the guidance of the staff registered nurse, is responsible for the care and safety of patients who come under his/her care. The surgical tech is responsible for ensuring effective communications between him/herself, the circulating nurse, the patient, other staff, and physicians. By anticipating the needs of the surgeon, the surgical tech provides assistance while maintaining an aseptic and safe surgical environment. This position is a PRN.

Recovery Inn Certified Nursing Assistant

The Recovery Inn, located on the campus of the Orthopedic & Sports Institute, is a unique facility offering highly specialized rehabilitation services to those recovering from joint replacement or repair surgery.  

The Certified Nursing Assistant is a vital member of the patient care team. In accordance with the patient/family plan of care, the Certified Nursing Assistant, under the direction of the Registered Nurse, collects patient information and provides direct patient care that contributes significantly to achievement of patient and family outcomes. As a member of the direct care team, the CNA is responsible and accountable for complete and accurate data collection and recording, completion of routine and delegated direct care activities, and communicating and collaborating with the RN to prioritize workload so that patient care outcomes are achieved. The CNA must show courtesy and respect to other employees, patients, family members, and visitors while providing excellent customer service. This position is part-time day shift.

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the care and safety of patients. The RN is also responsible for ensuring effective communication among him/herself, the certified nursing assistant, the patient and their families, other staff, and physicians.  The RN promotes restoration of health and the achievement of patient health goals through assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and delegation in the delivery of patient care.  The RN must be perceptive, with good judgment and decision-making/problem-solving skills, and must be able to understand and implement the plan of care. The RN must show courtesy and respect to other employees, patients, family members, and visitors while providing excellent customer service.
